‘Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did sigh and grumble at their desks;
All mimsy was the CFO,
And the auditors stressed.

“Beware the long hard slog, my son!
The cogs that turn, the hands that snatch!
Beware the late nights, and politics of
The sociopaths!”

He opened up his MS Word:
Long time the promotion he sought –
So rested he by the water cooler,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, in unctuous thought he stood,
The middle manager, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling out the gentlemen’s room,
And breathed alcohol as he came!

Tab, space! Tab, space! Backspace, return.
The keyboard went clickerty-clack!
He finished the report, and the middle
Manager went galumphing back.

“And, has thou submitted the report?
Come to my arms, my burdened boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.

‘Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did sigh and grumble at their desks;
All mimsy was the CFO,
And the auditors stressed.
