Money Man

He kept spreadsheets for this,
Forecasts and budgets for that.
Checked his balance against a list,
Had every transaction logged and tracked.

But one account was in deficit,
Overdrawn, the debts overdue.
An account that never made the list
Because Money Man never knew

Some assets can’t be summed and tallied.
Not all commodities have a ticket,
That the only mutual fund we need
Requires invested interest to compound it.

But poor Money Man haggled and bartered,
Always chasing the better deal,
Until his dealing days were numbered
When wealth came from love that’s real.
