NaNoWriMo 2016, Day 2

As I mentioned in my previous post, I will try to use a different prompt every day throughout this challenge.

Today’s chosen prompt was to choose a book from my shelf, select a line at random, then write paragraphs starting with each successive word in the sentence and see where it leads.

The line I chose was:

‘On either side of him, the rain-soaked concrete stretched away into the evening mist’
from High-Rise by J.G. Ballard

It led to an additional 2,046 words. I won’t say too much about what’s happening (as it could all change), but suffice to say my story revolves around loners and dreamers.
