So Long, Mr. Cohen

Yesterday it was announced that Leonard Cohen had passed away at the age of 82. His sombre, poetic music touched many people either through his own versions or through the many cover versions by diverse artists across different generations.

With a career spanning almost 50 years, some of Cohen’s most well known songs include So Long, Marianne, Suzanne, Famous Blue Raincoat, Chelsea Hotel #2, and personal favourite Sisters of Mercy. But his most well known song is probably Hallelujah which has been widely covered, two of the best covers are by Jeff Buckley and John Cale. Here is Cohen’s version.

So long and thank you, Mr. Cohen.
